We love our new Big Island Waikoloa Fairway Villas Condo

The truth is, in order to afford it, we have to rent it; we hope you will enjoy Hawai'i as much as we do.  For a very limited time we are offering a $125 rate.  Now this low rate does not include Kalikimaka stays, we're not completely pūpule.  It costs extra to see Santa Claus in Hawai'i

Waikoloa beach is a golfer's paradise.   It is also a beach paradise, an adventure paradise, a nature paradise, a geology paradise, shopping paradise, and an aloha spirit paradise.  The only thing not to love is the plane ride from home.

The Fairway Villas at Waikoloa Beach Resort (Map) is located 25 minutes north of the Kailua-Kona airport.  This 10 acre lush tropical paradise is situated within the Waikoloa Beach Resort (Video) and Waikoloa Beach Golf Course (Video), in the same resort as the King's and Beach Golf Course and within minutes of all the Kohala Coast resort golf courses.   The west side of The Big Island of Hawai'i (Video) is blessed with consistently dry sunny weather and is perfect for golf.

The Fairway Villas are loaded with luxury features and a distinctive Hawaiian plantation architecture.  The Anaehoomalu Bay (Video) (A-Bay) fish pond and beach are located across the road and through the Waikoloa Marriott, it is a short walk or a 2 minute drive.  The sunset is beautiful from our lanai, but, sunset across the ancient Hawaiian fishponds (Video) never disappoint.  The famous Hapuna Beach Park is just a 10 minute drive on the Queens highway.  Hapuna Beach is repeatedly named one of the 10 best beaches in the world.  Mauna Kea and Mauna Lani beaches are even closer; we prefer the A-Bay beach at Waikoloa.

We have been coming to Waikoloa for many years.  We have stayed at The Shores and the Vista Waikoloa.  The Fairway Villas were built in 2003.  After renting in The Fairway Villas a couple of trips we decided to buy Unit I-2.  We find I-2 comfortable with wireless/wired broadband Internet access, stereo, DVD player, and all the amenities you would expect in a new condo.  Kona coffee taste much better on our lanai than it does on the North Carolina beach.  I-2 is a ground floor unit so that lanai extends out into a wide lawn overlooking the ninth fairway surrounded with colorful fragrant tropical flora.  There is no need to lug the groceries or golf clubs up the elevator.  Our condo is also at the very end of the road so there is no traffic to contend with.

The pictures, floor plans, charts, and maps in this web site will tell you more about our unit that I can in mere words.  I will tell you that I-2 is complete with air conditioning, microwave, dishwasher, ice maker in the huge refrigerator, and a washer and dryer.   We find the washer and dryer very useful when packing light!  The grounds are well kept and the infinity swimming pool quite unique.  The Kings' Shops (Video) are a few minutes walk around the lake for fine shopping and dinning (Video).  There is even a food court for the kids or a quick snack.   The  Kings' Shops have a grocery store, exclusive boutiques such as Louis Vuitton, fine art galleries like the Dolphin Gallerie, Crazy Shirts, The Gecko Store, and live music.  Adjacent to the  Kings' Shops is The Queens' Marketplace

Also in the Waikoloa Resort area is the Hilton Waikoloa, it is fabulous in itself, but, it also host the Dolphin Quest Center where you can swim with the dolphins.  This is an experience you will not soon forget.   The Big Island of Hawai'i has a lot to offer everyone, from the active volcano where the rocks ooze, to secluded black sand beaches, 4WD adventures, scuba and snorkeling, hiking in rain forest and desert lava beds, biking, horse back riding, deep-sea fishing, surfing, parasailing, submarine adventures and helicopter sightseeing.  Oh yes, did I mention we play golf at Waikoloa?

2011 was a year of change for our Hawaiian condo.  We were there Christmas 2010 and decided to replace the bedspreads, next thing we knew we had replaced the mattress in the master bedroom, all the towels, sheets, put a new Teak table and chairs on the lanai and, my personal favorite, a new teak bench at the front door.  The bench is excellent for removing shoes to go Hawaiian style.  We decided we were tired of having the carpets cleaned in the bedrooms and decided to replace the carpet with hardwood floors.  Since we are in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, it was going to take 2 months to get the materials for the new hardwood floors, so that was put off until our next trip in July 2011.  Once everything was out of the bedrooms we decided to repaint everything in those rooms.  I have never really liked the black appliances in the kitchen either, so we replaced them with new stainless steel appliances in July too.  As long as we are having new appliances delivered, we decided to replace the washer and dryer; the washer and dryer are very important; then we put in a new water heater, new garbage disposal, replaced the chair upholstery too...  Wow, I did not want to go home.  It took until November to get the photographer to take new pictures.  You can see the virtual tour at these links http://tours.HawaiianVirtualTours.com/44435 and http://www.flickr.com/photos/hawaiianvirtualtours/sets/72157628039852127/   I will update the rest of the pictures ASAP.
